Got some bad news today - water in the transome & needs to be fixed asap:'(

Does anyone have plans to build a timber outboard motor stand to hold a 130hp Yamaha 2 Stroke. Ideally it needs to hold about 250kg and perhaps a slightly wider base with wheels so I can move it around.

Thanks in advance.

It's a 2 stroke . Lay it down.

Not sure what you need plans for? Anything will work steel is the safest option, As you mentioned a wide base for stability is important. You can lay it down if its a 2 stroke However your likely to scratch it etc or it will become in your way. This is what I knocked up out of scrap I put castor wheels on it so I can roll it around my shed out of the way etc. I also made it high enough so I could drop the leg and service the impeller etc.

Comorant - I will need to put it on a stand with wheels so I can move it around. I also want to respray and new stickers while its off. By the way - did you make use of the old wobble rollers I gave you?

Burleygu - I would love to learn how to weld, but not sure if the motor stand should be my first attempt. I will make from timber and go a bit oversize so its 100% solid. Can I ask you what size Mariner & whats the dimentions for the base on your stand (WXD)?

Thanks
