Hi everyone.

So My dad and aunties went out for whiting and saw a big ball of tuna so they had my rod.. My custom made $400+ one that I got a few years ago (they never told me they took it).

My auntie got it and must of stepped on the tip or it got caught on something and it broke like 20cm's off.. They didn't tell me till later that night and yea.. I was pissed off and sad.

Anyway they are willing to buy a new one though I'd never ask them to pay out $400+ for one..

It was built for tuna, mack's, big snapper..etc Was a 10-15kg rod but I'm just wanting one that's around 6-10kg (anything that can still catch a good sized mack/tuna/snapper)

I was looking at the Shimano Tcurve revolution inshore and offshore rods and they look pretty good for around $180-$200.

I'd only want to spend (well them to spend) $200 max and I want a really good quality one.

It will be used on my fishing kayak mainly and sometimes on the boat if I go out on the boat.

Would be good to get a answer asap as I need to buy it before Wednesday as I am going camping to peel island for 3 nights and would like to take it.

Thanks for any advice :)

One rod That you should consider is the Daiwa Generation Black 'Beowulf' 7 to 15 KG's and sells for around the $150 mark

The T-Curves are very nice rods, have several of them. Are you looking for overhead or spin? Casting at fish or bottom fishing?

Ouch.
I'd be investing in a lock up cupboard for my rods as well........

I use a Shimano Tcurve revolution offshore (7'6" 10-15kg) coupled with a Daiwa Saltist 4500H reel with 30lb Fins braid and love the set up for spinning at the macks and tuna... I have not had it that long and only used it a hand full of times on the spotties etc but it was great to use and was easily up to the job... :)

If you're at a tackle shop it's also be worth picking up a Shimano Terez. Either a 15-30 or 15-40lb. I have a 6000 Stradic FJ mounted on a 15-40lb and like it. You should be able to find them around the $200 mark also or a touch over.

Thanks..
I ended up getting a shimano t-curve travel bluewater 5-10kg.
It will be great for my kayaking cause it cuts down to 3 pieces.
