I cant believe it...
How can they get it so wrong? I am not going to look at the stupid site ever again. It was meant to be 15knots + of southerly wind. Nope it was zero wind this morning. Im going back to when all this wasnt available and just drive down to the ramp in the morning from now on.

Mate the only thing i use SB for is if i want to now what the wind is doing right now. The live feed for wind speed and direction.
Living at nerang most times its dead calm here so its good to know whats doing on the water b4 i get there.

BOM just updated their report at 950am and stating 25to30 off capey and yet the winds on the rain radar on capey are saying 20kms/hr. Must be in partnership with the government. How many lies can one tell before an independant has to come in and get the job done right. Its obvious these BOM fellas dont realy give a shit about doing their job properly. Put the man back in the lighthouse and we should see more days on the water with a set of eyeballs actually seeing what is going on first hand.

BOM is usually pretty spot on up here on this page: http://www.bom.gov.au/marine/wind.shtml
Seabreeze is a rough guide, nothing more.

Well said Nicko Cairns ............... Spot on!
Guys, as I said in the post re forecasts below, SEABREEZE is as much qualified to issue weather forecasts as my dog is!
They REPEAT BOM data in their own format and sure, they have pretty little gimmicks to make it look tricky - and some of them are quite cute and possibly useful like live cams etc. - but they AIN'T FORECASTERS!!!! Send them an email and ask for the names of their PROFESSIONAL FORECASTERS on staff and I'll bet you don't get the answer you want!
You've heard of garbage in garbage out?
Well that is what happens if their "forecaster" for want of a better word, enters data incorrectly, too late, too early, in the wrong box, uses an old forecast etc. etc. I don't want to knock them unduly because their heart is in the right place and they are at least providing a service we can use as AN AID TO THE REAL THING and I am sure they genuinely have the best intentions but ..................?
I use also "other sources" on my iPhone and iPad 'cos they have bigger print and pickies for my old eyes BUT BOM REMAINS THE PARAMONT SOURCE for everything.
Give up using all these alternate place as your PRIMARY means of weather forecasts, learn about weather, look at your charts and you know what, after a while I PROMISE YOU that you won't need to look at forecasts any more except for raw data like winds etc. You'll know what is happening 'cos you know how it works!
I try to have a mental picture 24/7 of the weather as on my iPad/iPhone I am always "looking at weather" and yep, I have always loved weather and know what makes it go around and yeh, I have been packing 'em sometimes! Get out on Moreton Bay at night in a rescue boat in a forty five knot SW wind looking for "somebody" and you get a new definition of pucker factor!
If you are one of the Boaties who says "ah geez, how could they get it so wrong again then let me make a brave statement that you shouldn't be in charge of a boat! I still cannot believe the clowns who head off in a boat because the cute little chick with the big boobs on TV said it was going to be fine and clear tomorrow!
When you pull a four metre Tinny with Dad, Mum and the kids back from Peel Island, at night, with a thirty knot plus south easterly blowing, two metre wave and their boat doesn't even have an anchor on board, you will know what I am talking about. (Yeh,yeh, we had them on the rescue boat, not left in theirs.........)
I'm dun!

Safe travels..

the weather was awesome today!!! the ironic thing was though (after intalling my bait tank) the bait reef was patchy with some really good shows of bait here and there.. Do you think i could get one on the bait jig!! i have never ever ever had a drama catching a few yakkas or slimies but today they jut wanted nothing to do with us. There was another boat close by and they were having the same dramas.. Wasted enough time so headed out to my other bait spot in 28 meters that usually never fails as well.. nothing again!!! off comes the bait jigs and on clips the laserpros.. got to the edge of the reef and within 5 minutes of puting the spread out one reel screams off.. it took heaps of 15kg and then decided to thrash its head about on the surface, i thought it was a little black for a minute but then i got to see it side on from about 50 meteres away and it looked like a wahoo or a spanish. It spat the hooks anyway (how do they do that?)
Two passes later and the same rod and same lure gets belted again. this fish i actually got to within 3 or 4 meters under the boat. Spannish of at least 15kg. same thing just as im about to have it gaffed it spits the hooks!!!! A few sware words got spoken..
Checked the hooks and they are razor sharp i can only assume it won it freedom by a quick change of direction and the line went slack for a split second... Anyway was an awesome day two great runs but no fish.
