Heres a story from left field. I know its April 1st, but this isn't an April fools joke. -
I went prawning today and managed a few prawns. An hour before I was due to leave Idecided to fill my other container and Bring some livies (Prawns ) home.
I arrived home with a couple of kg's of bananas ,and about 15 live prawns to boot.
I fridged the catch and put the live prawns in the Salt water pool at home.
I thought it would be great to throw them in, Record them with the Gopro , and castnet over them.
So that members could see how they flick up the net, when startled by the net.
The gopro wouldn't play the game. The battery went flat.
Anyway, I threw the prawns in the pool they Jumped, flicked, and dived into the water.
What happened next?
See if you knowledgable blokes can guess-
Did the majority of them ,
1- Bunch up in the deepest part of my pool?.
2- Flick, flick, and Jump out of the pool?
3- Spread out and sit on the vertical walls of my pool?.
4- Congregate in the shallows?
Let me know what u reckon will Give you the answer tomorrow.;D

If I'm correct the salt is converted to chlorine before it hits the pool. Therefore the prawns would die. ????????

Is this the sort of thing you were wanting to do?
This is from a couple of years ago, it's a bit grainy because it was done 'in the wild'
Would like to see it in clean water.

i want more information before guessing. is your pool heated? does it have shade over it? how shallow is the shallow end and how deep is the deep end? do you have any mud in your pool? what time is run out tide in your pool?

but failing answers to those questions, i would bet my righty the answer is 3. i used to keep them alive for bait in a 44 gallon drum and they were all over it.

I'm impressed. A number of you got it right. 90% spread out and stuck to the sides of the pool like Spiders. The 20cm one (it was the largest), sat in the deepest part of the pool on the bottom. 2 prawns parked them selves in the shallows. I had to use the pools scoop to catch them on the vertical wall.
Thinking about it, at Pitts rocks theres a vertical drop along the rock face. Its a good spot for landing quite a few. Can wreck your net though if not carefull. Now did you guys guess number 3?- Or was it prior knowledge? love to know.

They don't call me the Prawn Whisperer for nothing................ No, it was a guess, but it made the most sense.
