What else is there to do after weeks of wind and rain postponing work, no fishing and too much time to think.....renovations of course ;D

First job was to decipher this mess....identify, tag and disconnect almost every one to reposition gauges and switches (and hope like hell they all go back together)
89631

Meanwhile my pride and joy has been looking like this
89630

But there is some light at the end of the tunnel, now looking like this
89629

Replaced the dash panel and re-organise to fit Raymarine, ICOM VHF and also keep the existing gauges. HDS12 on top.
Switch panel moved from original dash to console face
New fuse panel for the additional toys
New isolation switch ( strangely the boat didn't have one )
Full wiring and breaker for the MinnKota (24v)
Plumbing and pre-wire for deck wash

What's left to complete....
Fit deck wash
Install battery bank and 24v charger
Mount leccy
CLEAN UP!!!!

Possibly finished tomorrow.........I wanna go fishing:P

I got close to finishing......but no cigar

Decided to add to the job list and fitted an anchor shelf

89641

Deck wash completed, new anchor light installed, general tidy and plenty of Sica spread around.

I hit a bit of a snag with mounting the leccy.....I have one of those fancy 2 part mounting plates (RTA-17)
does the entire upper plate need support, or only the small bottom plate?
Does the tapered fit of the 2 plates provide enough support by itself (with the pin in of course)?
If it needs to be shimmed to be mounted flat, do you only need to shim the bottom plate, or does the shim need to be the size of the larger one?

Can't find any reference to this issue
