Am I likely to have any problems in QLD with self tested PFDS.
I have completed all the tests and filled out the form www.axispfds.com.au (http://www.axispfds.com.au)
They are not a problem in NSW for rec use only, would appreciate feedback re QLD
Regards
Wally

I think it depends on the manufacturers instructions i.e. if it says "Must be tested by certified agent" then that is what is required....if it doesn't say that then your self tests (If logged and in done in accordance with manuf. recommendations) then you would have a strong case to argue.

Anyway it has been covered on here before in some detail so a quick search should help but what I do is wear my infatable PFD (Self tested & dated) but keep a $10 PFD1 on board at all times to meet the reg's. I would be happy to argue that in court...."The Infaltable PFD was just for looking cool, the life jacket in the locker (WITH STICKER) is the device which is in compliance with the safety regs".
