Suzuki year model

Can anyone help me out with the year model of a 15hp 2 stroke Suzuki outboard?

The model number is DT15
Serial number 01501 - 865588

I am selling it on Ebay and need to know the year model.

I put a post here showing that it was 86 model but I don't have faith in the info I got that from so I deleted it..... too dodgy to rely on :)

Looks like the number 8 refers to the year but doesn't reference if it is 88,98 or 08???

it could be an 88, a 98, or a 2008, depending on the colour.

Yeah I came up with 88 from my search, but know that wasn't right, as I knew it was around mid to late 90's

98 it is.
