Hi guys, where is the best place to buy skid Teflon or a suitable alternative for a cat boat trailer. Are there cheaper alternatives that do a good job?

Dotmar plastics. I wouldnt be using Teflon mate, its not very UV stable. HPDE plastic is 100%UV stable and it will act much the safe as Teflon. Talk to the Techs at Dotmar they will set you straight.

I got my skids from the Belco trailer factory at Brendale, they sell public. I found them cheaper than everywhere else I looked.

depends if you want the standard trailer stuff you can buy at boat shops, most will keep it in stock in 1.5 and 3M lengths in blue and red, red for fibreglass, and blue for Aluminium, or... are you after some specialised size , if that's the case, a plastics supplier will set you right, tell them exactly what you want it for, and they will cut it to suit your requirements, it wont be cheap though.

Hi All.
my business actually extrude the plastic skids that you see around.
as stated although most call them teflon, the product is actually hdpe polyethylene.
We can supply any length skids, so if you are interested in these products shoot me a PM. or check out our website at http://www.roxom.com.au/boat-trailer-parts/plastic-skids
We also extrude the plastic bunks, bumper covers and machine all plastic boat rollers.

Look forward to answering any questions anyone may have on these products.

Good luck with your project.

cheers
Josh
