Hi, after many many years my trailer has gone to the big boat ramp in the sky and I'm looking to replace it.

What I had never done was pass over a weighbridge to get an idea of the all up weight, this will obviously have a bearing on the ATM of the trailer I need.

Would anyone be able to provide a ballpark weight of the hull and motor (90hp 2 stroke Merc)? I'd take a guess and say with full fuel (130l tank) and all the other accumulated goodies I end up carrying I'd be looking at 1250kg or so but happy to be corrected.

Cheers in advance,

Dave

I guess if you look at it in bits, the boat would be around 500KG bare when new, the motor would be (mind you, the 90 was available in 3-4 and 6 cylinder models) about 140KG depending on model, and the trailer would be around 300KG??? add all your extra bits and pieces like battery, fuel and other gear, and take a guess.

Hey Fozzy, according to a Jeff Webster mag the Viking is 1050kg on the trailer. The hull weight is 480kg.
Hope this helps

depending on what sort of trailer you are after, all the "brand" names will be much the same, the upper range are OK, so unless you are looking at something custom, then just do a bit of a shop around at your local dealers and see what they can offer, don't be fooled by the cheapest they can offer, look for what you want, even the budget builders offer some good trailers in their range.

If you are talking 1,200kg for hull motor and stuff yep. On a 400-450kg trailer sitting on a weighbridge I would be expecting 1500-1700kg for a boat like that. My little glass CC on a pretty chunky trailer came in at 1200kg full of fuel and gear.

I have a 1991 viking 17 (5.2 metre similar to Vsea, but slightly bigger).
If that is the version you are referring to I have had it over a weighbridge, about 50L fuel on single axle steel trailer and was 1350kg. Has a 140 Evinrude 2 stroke on back and a few extras like spare trailer wheel etc included. It has 150L underfloor tank, and I work on 1500kg fully loaded, but I am guessing it could get slightly over on a big trip.

cheers.

My 1980's era viking 5.2 with 90hp on a single axle trailer went 1050kg with 100L of fuel and dual batteries and not much else in it.
