Merc Smart Gauges Cracking

Hi All,
Checking over the boat today and noticed the lenses on the Smart Gauges have
cracked. This is the second set 1st pair replaced under warranty no problem. The boat is an open centre console and only 15 months old. It is kept under cover.
Has anyone had similar problems?

Apparently and happy to be corrected but Merc switched to glass lenses at some point as cracking was a common prob on the acrylic lenses.

Never had a problem in 5 years of use.

Yep same here, had mine since 2004 without issue.

As above.Mine are nearing 5 years.Have you unscrewed the rear ring nut and checked if the gauge body is seating flat on to the surface.You may have a twisting effect going on,best to eliminate all possibilities.Are yours glass or acrylic? Jim

Hi Bigjim,
They are acrylic. I see they have recently changed to glass as steeler stated. Will get dealer to check mounting before replacing hopefully under warranty.
