hi all looking at chasing spanish and gt at stanage bay in sept, been there many times for reefies but not chased the above, want to hit it at the best time of the month. Now live in lower n,s,w and have forgotten these times of the month to hunt the above, what part of the moon do you all think is best ,build up to the full or coming off or maybe the black moon,or somewhere in-between any thoughts?

I believe the New Moon is usually best for Spanos. I normally like a bit of water movement and pressure points so the old "no run, no fun" seems to work for me. Stanage is a whole new world with massive movements of water so the neap tides will give you much bigger windows. I would give Von a call at Stanage Bay Marine and she will set you straight.

Hi.
While you're there. Don't forget to take a heavy duty Popping stick with you too.
Stanage is one of Nomad's favourite places in Aust for decent GT's.
We live in Yeppoon But my area is normally Manifold. Pinnacles and Flat\perforated.

I'm not a bottom fisherman and get all I want normally in those areas.
