Hi members,
Was thinking of making a splash well for the old tinny. Would it be worth while doing for the extra 200mm gain in height for the transom.
Only new to boating and not sure how much you would get over the back if any.
Main fishing areas would be port Alma, Fitzroy delta, cap coast area.
Just after what others have experienced with there small tinnies and the odd wave from behind.

I dont think you need one, especially for the places u are talking about. The oil burner wouldn't be that heavy. Put your extra weight up the front, make sure you bilge pump works and try it out!

Have two 24l litre tanks plus 760cca batt and tool kit in rear seemed a bit bum heavy. Tests have been in fresh water so guessing buoyancy will be a bit better once I hit the salt.
Doing motor height and prop tests this weekend. Can't wait.
See if I get bored after this, may just get the mig out and do one anyway. There's a must to tinkering.

Yeah it really depends on the waters you intend to be in, but if you don't mind a bit of a project then it can only make it a bit safer at the end of the day. If it were my boat I would probably do it, even if it wasn't a major issue, I like a bit of height in the transom.

Yep, made this.
Sold the little boat to fund the project.
