Very straight forward to install. You have to make sure that you put three bolts in to the winch mount. Thats about it really, just follow the instructions. I'll never have another boat without one.

Make sure you have the correct type of winch post as well. Some can't fit.

Fitting to the boat was easy. Thinking about, designing, prototyping in wood, drawing and getting fabricated and galvanized a winch post insert on which it would work was tricky, but in the end only cost me $80- a bargain. Fitting to the new winch post insert then was easy. And it works beautifully.
So the only hard bit for me was in brain-power, not labour.

Has anyone seen or done this on a cat?

no but I had one on my old boat....if you sink your trailer too deep you could (as I had done in the past) miss the latch by coming in below it. If this happens dont freak...your just too deep and drive trailer out a bit.

sure they work on a Cat well if installed correctly...see my other post and pics from my Noosacat 2300 where it was just started specifically on this topic of catches that work with cats
