US boating mishap caught on film aka how performing for the camera can turn ugly

thankfully no one apparently seriously injured - incredibly the local news/TV reports the incident, yet they would seem to be a major contributor - note the driver working the throttle with his left hand

This has been up here before but worth a second look. The earlier footage showed the boat that created the wake and the driver seemed unconcerned about the wake... until very late. Then it appears a lurch back on the throttle broke the cable.

Could be wrong but that was my interpretation.

This always makes me laugh when I see that video making the forum rounds - its a cracker. Looks like he was backing off the throttles when the props left the water when jumping over the other boats wake - to stop over revving the engines - but looks like the second landing went very wrong.

Glad no one was hurt as it is very entertaining, particularly the slow motion.
