In preparation for retirement I began looking for a new boat to fish in mostly sheltered water. I wanted a "tinny" sized boat but with a little luxury i.e. forward control with a windscreen for shelter and a motor with power trim and tilt.
And here she is: it is a Clark 4.27 Navigator runabout with a 30 EFI Mercury fourstroke outboard. I have now completed 5 hours running, top speed is 23 knots with a cruise speed of 18 knots. The tacho was unable to be fitted because for some reason the ordered tacho didn't work. This will be rectified at the 10 hour service then I will be able to ascertain whether she is propped correctly (although it does feel pretty good now). Very, very pleased indeed. Cheers Winston.

Good one, a no nonsense, solid little rig, with just enough to make it a pleasure to own and maintain.

For some sort of comparison, my 4.0m open tinny with a 30hp Suzuki tops out at 26 knts, so that's preety much on the money given mine would be a bit lighter.

Angryant, main use will be The Sandy Straits although it will be an easy rig to tow almost anywhere e.g. Iluka etc. Cheers Winston.
