Got a little voucher for chrissy so decided that I needed to use it... Of course...

So went and purchased myself a daiwa Aird 2500 for $99 and paired it with a shimano raider 2, 2-4kg 6'10 1pc soft plastic rod which is mighty purdy for $125. Nice setup for cost. Once it stops raining ill be able to have a bit more of a play with it than I did with the 15 mins today. First impressions are good tho. Feels good to use. Will update once hook my first fish!

5 catfish later..... With the picture being the biggest at 59cm. It held up well as catties love to become a dead weight in the water. The 2 spools are good. Spoiled the 2500 with 15lb and the 3000 reel with 20lb so I can fit it to a bigger rod for bait fishing and hard divers. But felt smooth. Rod is awesome. With the rate or catfish I'm catching. I might have to take up crabbing so I've got something to do with them instead of throwing them back.. Haha... Anyway. Recommend both reel and rod.
