hey all ive got a 4.25 allycarft fishmate with a 30 on the back and i want to be able to tow my kids around on a biscuit and kneeboard.
the question is i want to know is do i need to strength my boat in any way to do this,i will only be towing kids as thats all the motor will handle anyway.
what are your thoughts

cheers marty

Shouldn't be a problem, we used to surf behind my 3.85 quintrex with a 20hp on the back! Just tied the ski rope to the rear grab handle.

Use a bridle and pulley system connected to the rear grab handles and you should be right.

I've also towed "full size people" behind a tinny with the same sort of set up, the grab handle bent but didnt break nor crack anything, just use a bigger board for bigger people, the Buscuit will work but will be alot of drag on a 30hp, the kneeboard will work better.

and use a bridle or it maybe hard to control and will also spread out the load on the handles.

only other advice is make sure the skiier dose not pass the boat in turns or when the weight is put on the boat from a right angle is can be nasty for the person in the boat and its wants to capsize..

It's safe enough if you just keep in it mind and dont turn to sharp.

One thing to consider is to add skier liability to your insurance. Will cover you if something goes wrong.
