hi all,
just recently purchased a 4.3meter tinny with a 90hp tohatsu on the back, runs perfect, just one question. im stuck as to how you choke this particular motor, its a tiller steer with electric start but cant see the choke anywhere. is it just a matter of pumping the throttle to choke this unit or is there a choke feature that i cant see ( eyes are painted on lol)

I have a tohatsu forward controls electric start. The choke is activated by pushing the ignition key, you should hear a click & turning it. What sort of tinny is it?

 Jesus, am I reading this right?
What's this tinny rated to? Is it tiller steer?

A 90 on a 4.3 tinnie. Must be a rocket ship.

re 90 hp Tohatsu.
The choke would be activated by pushing in the key.
As for the 90 hp on the 4.3. There is now way that a 4.3 tinnie would be rated for 90 hp. Good luck insurance wise if any accident on the water were to occur. Why risk all your hard earned.
Cheers Hino.

yeah its all legit mate, its rated for a 90 from the manufacturer. goes pretty good but has a lot of weight in it.
Thanks for that mate, as soon as you mentioned push the key in it clicked in my head lol.

Thats very interesting being a 4.3mt tiller tiny rated for a 90hp doesnt make sence to me if it was a forwdstreering or CC then yes, its a rocket ship thats for sure, the way i see it a 50 or 60 max hp for a 4.3 tiller.

Hi Gilli
4.3 with a 90 tiller sweet, what make of boat? I had a 4.3 Clark abalone with a 70 rude tiller on it went like a dream...
Guys when working in the gulf I saw some 5m custom jobs with 100hp tillers on them, great looking boats wish I could have taken one for a run...
Best of luck with the boat

Sorry for the late reply, it is a custom made bluefin v nose punt. It's got a 5mm bottom in it and 4mm sides. The people I purchased it off had it custom made for the hinchinbrook channel. Goes good though

Wind-up! For sure. Post a pic of the builders plate!!
Must be a typo. Really meant 5.3m!:-X
I cant believe any boat builder would rate a 13ft tinny to 90hp. Maybe a specialised race hull, or something like a jet sprint boat, but not a typical tinny. Even with a 5mm hull:o

Well I can assure you that it's not a wind up!! It's definately a 4.3, no doubt about it. But like I said, custom boat mate, all legal and legit. Wouldn't have it if it wasn't legal, nor would I risk insuring it if it weren't legal

How does she go in a chop? V punt I had a few years ago,,,,,,,,,,, well lets just say my back n kidneys love me now days. The near sinking from a 1.2 mtr crack that developed along the keel line, well that's another story altogether (Allycraft)

Yeah much the same, it doesn't like chop at all, near on nose dives. I sold it only recently and have gone back to a full v for that reason and that I was too restricted in where I could fish with the boat. Although, I never had any problems with cracks or anything like that.
