Just had a good idea which I will do today. Make a label with expiry dates of flares and Epirb(both battery and registration dates) and stick it on dash for constant reminder.
Time flies and I am sure many have been caught out by out of date flares etc because they thought it had not been that long since buying them. Might just save a fine and also make you look at them right now.

Put the dates in your smartphone with advance warnings.

when i bought my tinny last year, it came with a label which states exactly that - Expiry of flares, epirb etc. I was told to stick it on where visible by all on board and clearly mark expiry dates.
