Hello everyone,
I have a tinny with a 15hp mercury tiller steer. I am wondering if there is a device I could use to measure fuel consumption. I don't need it to be super accurate, just after a ballpark figure.
I also don't want to spend $100s of dollars, more after nifty ideas that fellow fisherman have come up with.
Cheers,
Mick

Finga is on the money.... If you have a GPS enabled phone or a actual GPS just get the track distance and refill the container.
Consumption is track distance divided by litres.
Is that the kind of thing you mean?
A: Use a GPS and a fuel bowser. Ltrs divided Kms = fuel ecom./ distance
B: use a watch and a fuel bowser. Ltrs divided by Hrs = fuel ecom./ hrs
C: one tank there on tank back ..... dont complicate it. it's fishing.

Checking consumption is something I've never really done with the 15hp Honda.
1-11litre tank near equals a summers fishing if I go every day.
C: one tank there on tank back ..... dont complicate it. it's fishing.
BigE is on the money! This is what I do, two identical tanks + jerry can. I do all my exploring and traveling on the 1st tank, when its empty I know that I'm at the half way point and switch to the 2nd tank and don't head out any further.
