Looks like they copped it bad. Sadly there has been a few people die already.

Check out the tide gauge at Battery Park NY. I think it went up to almost 14 feet which is about 10' over high tide for the day.

Check out wave heights on the Great Lakes / Canada. Plus they will probably get a good dump too .

"The storm could cause large waves — up to 7 m high — in the Great Lakes, particularly southern Lake Huron. Large waves are also forecast for the shorelines Gaspe, Que."

My sister lives in Maryland (Washington D.C. area)
Last report before she went to bed was - it's raining a bit - winds to 30 kts. Taught the yanks to drink bundy and coke at the cyclone party......

Am I reading that right, in that the biggest of the surge happened right on high tide? That's unlucky.

Mind you, how many times do we see an event over here that coincides with a king tide?
