I've got a Johnno 6hp that I got serviced a few months ago at Paradise Point, and I know he had to drill one of the existing clamps out, as it was completely seized in there. Since the new one has been put in, it's become threaded to the point that it will literally slide all the way through with no resistance, making my motor unuseable (as it will literally fall off the boat)
What's the best form of attack here? Tap and dye the hole and get a larger diameter clamp? Any information will be of help.
Cheers,
Kaidon

Cable ties and gaffer tape are your friend.

It isn't the clamp that's threaded, it's the hole it goes in. I'll give them a call anyway and see what they can do. the heli coil option looks good too, I'll have a ring around and see if anyone on the coast can supply/install them.
Cheers guys,

The outboard wrecker will have the bracket that has the thread stripped out of it.

Buy a big gal or stainless bolt with a couple of extra nuts and use the bolt as your clamp, a 6hp is not going to put too much strain on it I wouldn't think.
