Has anyone spent much time in both boats and got a opinion on which one is better? And can you share any likes and dislikes of either models. Thanks.

Comparing the new 1900 and 2100. I have owned a 5.2 and a Offshore 2400 so I know about them. Thinking of buying one.

1900 and 2100 are similar boats. Front half of the 2100 layout is very similarto the 2400. Back half of the 1900-2100 are virtually the same. Differencebeing you can sleep up to 3 guys on the 2100 and no sleeping at all on the1900. Both great boats as you know.

Good luck trying to find a new second hand one though.

Thanks. Need sleeping so that rules out 1900.

you could sleep on the 1900 on the back deck if need be.put a camp cover on it and would suit...had a crawl over a 1900 this arvo supprised me a little to be honest.would be a good little boat and i recon it would go offshore ok as well...fuel figures i seen on the boat was .5-.6 per km combined pretty good.i believe the 2100 gets similar fuel figures. the 2400kc which i have now is a great boat but might have to go for a run in a 1900 just to see the feel the ride of them..i had scratched them off my list of new boats to cosider to buy but have put them back on it as well as the 2100..am going round in circles at the moment

Yes I have considered them. I had sea trek do some work on my KC 2400 and it was first class. No doubt he builds a awesome boat. Not many 2 nd hand though and were around 120k when I enquired. Best buys round are KC 2400 but been there done that. There is a lack of 5.5 to 6 meter cats built. Is sea trek still at caloundra?

Yep Al Broughton is still going strong. He is still finishing off Jonesy's Seatrek as far I know. Probably 6 weeks or so since I was last there. One of my old regulars Dan has one and Al from Lively Lures as well. There is also Bob who does Coastal Cats 2 blocks away from Al. I regularly fish in a 6m one of them. Both can be customised how you want.

Thanks smithy. How did you rate the coastal?

Probably more dippy divier than a KC, downsea especially. Certainly very solid built hulls. Not podded but they have a walkway between the motors. Popular commercially with the ice boxes in the hulls though Bob's personal one has a big ice box above deck. The one I go on was Bob's son's boat. Originally a cabin boat until it got crunched on Caloundra bar and now it is a centre cab walk around. We do Caloundra bar most times and I have never felt unsafe. Loves a short sharp sea and will get up on top of them. In rough stuff you just have to poke along at 18knots or so. I'd say 5.2 KCs are a bit more sportier feeling all round with regard responsiveness to trim etc. Old 6.2KCs are weapons. Been on the green one if you can remember it. Was one of the old owners ones. They really feel a lot better with that extra metre compared to the 5.2s.
