My neighbour bought a 4 stroke 175 about Sept/Oct last year. Sensational motor. Performance and economy was so impressive, I went out and repowered my boat and got a Suzuki 4 stroke 115 and was the best decision I ever made.

I've got a 2009 175 - nothing but trouble. Haines group where terrible to deal with, ended up with the solicitors and no result.
Don't do it ... pay a little extra for a Yammy ... I wish I had.

I kind of think the 175 Suzuki is going to be one of those motors that will go down in history as being one of the best ever, kind of like the old V4 OMC and the 3cylinder yamahas and so on, not too sure what happened with zinkideo, but I guess he should never had to deal with the haines group, his dealer should have done that part, don't know the whole story though (and maybe don't want to)

Mine's good.

Faultless actually, as it should be after 190hrs.

John Eade looks after it, not the dealer.

6 hours to go and we will book ours in for the 300 hours service, no issues, good fuel economy by all accounts. Pushing a 6.3m Caribbean Reef Runner, 1900Kg fueled on the water, plus 4 industrial sized adults, 0.6 l/km in good conditions @ 21-25 knots, seen 38 knots on the GPS at WOT 6100 rpm, and the same or better when trolling. I dinged the original prop at 17 hours and replaced it with a 4 blade Solas. Gets on the plane nicely, and you need to ensure passengers are seated or hanging on if you go WOT from standing still. Have driven he same boat fitted with a 200 Optimax, and while the performance difference is noticeable, ther eis not much in it, and the Zook doesn't fume while trolling and is not as noisy. Our boat has a hardtop and full windscreen that tends to "catch & echo" the noise, but we are still able to talk normally between driver and passenger while travelling.

The engine has good mid range torque, and is responsive when driving in rough conditions, and has enough to be able to stay on the back of a wave coming back in.

A happy owner, and have only owned a couple of other boats, the last being a 115 4 stk Merc EFI which was alo a good engine for the boat it was on.

Wayne at Fraser Marine at Eden looks after it, a 100k tow each way, but the closest Suzuki dealer. For the next service, we will drop it in early, pick it up around lunchtime and go chase something around Eden so its not a wasted trip ;D

Cheers

Just so we knoow who to blame, even south coast NSW!! I hope you enjoy it, they are a well engineered gadget from my observation to date. Exercise somepatience and run it in according to the book, I know it was the longest 20 hours I have spent in some time LOL.

Who is putting it on Brian? Jeffers or Laguna Boating? Should be a good thing for you. Load her up with fuel and you might be able to make Waddy and back from here! Lol!
