I would be very wary about rot in the transom as I am with any older glass boat. If the hull and trailer are good then its worth a look if not then you should be able to find better out there in this market. The're a light boat for their size.

I wouldn't worry too much about light for their size, but the motor is a bit long in the tooth.
Factor a new motor into the price - probably a 150hp job. Even a reasonable condition hh565 for $12,000 blows out to $45,000 with a new motor and trailer!

That boat is a 1950R not a 1950LE

i had one back in nz and it was a fantastic boat. got me home a few times when the weather turned really nasty:-*. always handled way more than the skipper;D;D great riding boat and i learnt a lot from it. mine had a 175 2 stroke suzi on it and went really well, it never lacked for grunt even with 4 guys and all the fishing gear we could carry.

the electronics look like a hds5 and separate chartplotter so if the transom and floor etc checks out id allow for a 175 new tech 2 stroke or four stroke and negotiate from there.
bimini, clears and rocket launcher all a bonus as well.

ask how long they have had it and if theyve done any structual work - you never know you might get lucky and it might have been done already;)

cheers ryan
