Yeah it's all just another fundamentlist and antihumanist scam...pretty pictures that will give the little bloke less choice and no voice in their freedom do no harm..for instance charters out to remote reefs...the zealots cannot allow this despite the understanding that 'protection' has no real world value except as ultimately antihumanist in end result which is a win every time for these Taliban like organizations.

So we will get pretty pictures on maps, the little people of no voice will be considered collateral damage easily overtalked by the governments favored NGOs etc and the environment gets nothing of measurable value in return...such a sick country we live in.

It's cannot ever be about protection unless one plays a psychotic card it's about ensuring the antihumanists get to legally abuse and control with a smirk for the privileged.

notice they aren't planning too many for the southern oceans so that it doesnt interfere with the govts plans to let the super trawler in

Yes PEW will get pretty much everything they want. Pity the commercial guys are losing the PR war so badly. They just can't mount a decent argument and Labor will bow to the will of an American lobby group, just like they have shafted the development in Bowen by stalling approval of the coal development by at least 2 years on the back of a ridiculous UNESCO report....all the usual players involved. Immogen whatsherface, Hugh Possingham, no doubt AMCS is in there somewhere as well. While this will mainly effect commercial fisheries, displaced effort will effect recreational fishing and it is just the endless bracket creep, one "marine protected area" at a time. Bit by bit make it more complicated, bit by bit make it harder, bit by bit shut down fishing as a food source and bit by bit educate our kids that fishing is bad for the "environment". I just wish the commercial guys had a decent strategy to defend themselves and "us" but they don't. They have no idea and no answers to the well funded PR monster of the green lobby and a complient media and trotting out "old mate" the trawler skipper certainly isn't doing the cause any good. Just look at the images used...coral reefs, turtles, whales, beautiful images, compared to dumping net loads of fish on a deck...and you can bet all the images are supplied BY the pr firms working for the green monster.
