Paddled out this morn in the cold windy/rainy conditions and locked up on this big fella. Once i realised what it was, i backed off and proceeded to be towed around for about 30mins. Stoked to get back on the yak.

That is an incredible fish carnster, let alone successfully landing it on a yak! Awesome work!
Did you eat it? Caught a smaller one around 30lb couple of weeks ago; very impressed by the eating quality.
Cheers.

Was gr8 eating, especially fresh. Had about 20 relatives around on the weekend and the 8kg's of fillets are now gone. Some ate it raw and i cooked some by sealing both sides and then adding some soy and worceteshire sauce to the fry pan. Yum. Gave some to a couple of kayak buddies also.

It is pretty basic mate poly kayak with a small gaff rod holders and no electronics except a phone and some tackle in a 2L dry hatch as seen in the pic and a 1m bag strapped to the front for the fish. I came straight in cause i wouldn't have been able to store any more fish and would have sunk with too much more weight.
If you wanna know more about the type of yak let me know.

Yaks are quiet, you don't realise how much noise a boat makes until you fish from a yak, combine this with a well presented livey and your half way there.
