Hi guys,
After a long wait i finally have my current boat up for sale and will be upgrading as soon as my boat is sold.
Now what to buy with a $35k budget?

Boat needs to be abit of a allrounder either a side consloe or centre console with a front casting deck for luring and with deep enough sides to handle going outside on good days but most fishing will be done in open bays such as sydney harbour or jervis bay.

Max boat size upto 5 metres as i enjoy fishing alone at times so needs to be easy for one person to launch and retrieve and as i fish weekly off my boat i dont want it to cost me a arm and leg to run.

At the moment im thinking of a quintrex 470 or 490 topender with a new yamaha 70 4 stroke. What would you buy with up to $35k budget?

clark 4.85 dominator...check them out...going for around 25/30...leaves a bit of room for a nice sounder and bits you always add...

Repower with a 4 stroke and tonnes of money left over for an ipilot Minn Kota and some good electronics.

Websters are good things from going out in Motty's couple. You've got the ride and stability of a cat and they will cut through waves better than a tinny.

That that to the extreme, an NQ Borger cat.

I can vouch for the 490 topender with a yam 70 four stroke( lots of grunt with the 70). One of my fishing pals have one and as an alrounder I can say it's one of the best I have been in. He got his 2011 model as the 2012 came out and got his for about 33k with a hds7. He got his from hunts marine go and talk to John hunt. I spoke to him before I got my Haines and he is great to deal with. I just prefered the Haines over the cruise craft..

Geez that second Galey would hammer along Smithy!! I have a mate that just bought one with a 75 etec and it flies the 90 Opti would go like stink I reckon. Great little allround boat too.

I'd be going 'as new-second hand' - much more value for your $ IMHO.
The Hydrofield awesome 5 would be very high on my list and I love Smithy's options too.
Personally, with that budget I'd be looking at something other than a pressed ali hull.

Thanks everyone for your replies.
I have been thinking long and hard and now will wait until the sydney boat show which is not far away (1st week in August) that way i can see many boats and compare apples with apples.
I cant wait.

I was at Origin Boats yesterday lookink at among others a 5000 Axis CC being built awsome looking build. If you just got the bare bones, shopped around for a good motor say a 90hp Suzuki or similar and trailer deal and could do a bit of the fitout or even build the trailer yourself, you could get close to your budget and have something really good to tart up more as you can afford to. Wouldn't be built possibly till close to Christmas they were telling me so gives you a bit of time to save.

That's what I would do and in fact I am thinking about it seriously ATM.
