With all the bad weather I'm taking the chance to do some maintenance. Am cleaning up the anodes. Are there just the two anodes on the ETEC - one on the leg and one long one behind the tilt motor? For some reason I have in my mind there is another one somewhere.

What about the trim tab?

In the gearcase is 2. Here is the diagram. You can inspect it with the prop off but need to pull the front of the box ( bearing carrier) apart to replace it. They last a long time.

The trim tab isn't an anode purnong.

I was unaware of the one on the bearing carrier cormorant I bet that one doesn't get looked at very often.
There's no way I'm pulling my bearing carrier out to inspect it anyway.

I don't know if the Evinrude has them, but observing the service on our Zook, there are multiple internal anodes in the water jacket, bolted to a plug with an o-ring into the side of the block. Might be worth having a look at the manual.

Nah from memory etecs don't have engine annodes as they are decent metal and use the bearing carrier one for that purpose. The rude blocks were good metal butt that may have changed . With so few parts and all teh same metal it is not liek many other motors who need more protection.
