How does poly material go welded to poly hull?

I hear it may not be as strong as perhaps ali plate bolted through.

poly welded to poly is as strong as poly.

I have a motorguide, base plate screwed to my poly with no plastic plates welded onto boat. I will take some pics tomorrow.
