80240802398023880237G Day all had a great day east of Moreton island with Ideas and Tangles. The plan, stay shallow and target cobia. After a 20 minute tussle Ideas gets it all together and we have a 22kg cobe in the kill bag, hi fives and yahoos complete we set up for another drift when i come up tight on a freight train, with 80 lb braid dissapearing off my catalina the calls made to chase this beast down, 40 mins on my body is starting to shut down ,back cramping ,arms two inches longer ,covered in sweat we see this fish the size of a vw. Sorry guys for getting carried away i was just reliving todays events. A GT is brought aboard (scales only went to 50kg) pics taken and fish released to fight another day. My first GT and one that is going to remembered for a while. An awesome day with awesome mates.
Tightlines all Cheers MM

That GT is a horse Perry, no wonder you were puffing and panting on the 2 way after landing it ;D

If we were running the comp yesterday i dare say you and Ideas would have walked away with some prizes ;)

cheers tim :)

He still had time to talk to us on the radio Tim, but with composure despite the huffing and puffing. When a bloke like you says he is stuffed after a long tussle with a freight train I was looking foreward to seeing the photos. Thanks Perry!

Well done Perry and Ideas both of your fish are crackers and will certainly take a while to top in the PB stakes. I cant wait to see the video when you put it together.
I just hope next weekend shapes up with some fantastic weather.

By the sounds of things you need some more exercise.
You'd better get out and get some more 'exercise'. This week-end seems like a corker to get some 'exercise'.
Remember....the more exercise you get the fitter you'll become.

I wonder if you could claim that on medical benefits??

Cheers Alfred.
PS: well done :D

Mate you got the BIG one you were looking for after a few quiet trips. I bet Craig thought he had all the bragging rights after scoring the Cobe.
By the way Perry, you know if you hold your fish out at arms length they look bigger in the photo;D
I fished the same spot today without scoring but one fish ripped off nearly 300m of 65lb braid and I was chasing it in the boat when the leader cut through
Looking foreward to the video
Very nice fish fellas

Let us review you other option? hahahahaha I was telling the wife I gave the cobia a good stab with the gaff as I wasn't up for the swim home. I got the thing in the end first time it nearly took me back into the water.

Yeah mate we tried to weigh it but the scales maxed out at 50 kg so any body's guess.

Weigh it by lifting the front until the scales hit fifty. Then lift the back then the middle.

I bet it weighs 150 kgs. :)
