My trailer winch is falling apart so I need to replace it. There is no indication on the current winch as to what it's pulling weight capacity is so I am unsure what to replace it with. Boat is Haines Hunter Classic 600, approx 1500kg on rollers. What pulling capacity do I need, 1500kg's? The best Jarrett winch at Whitworths Marine only pulls 800kg. Is this enough?

Any advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers
Dave

the biggest factor is the gear ratio, you need to get one that is similar so it is easy to wind the boat on.

You are only trying to drag it up a slight incline on rollers rather than lift it. You would get away with an 800kg.

Bias has them rated to 1200kg

As stated earlier, you dont of course need to lift the boat, just to drag it over some rollers ( If you dont take the earlier suggestion about driving on of course)
Our boats are almost identical in size and weight.
I replaced mine with the 800kg this year.
BTW go the dyneema rope too, you wont regret it
