Just a quick msg to see if anyone has a 50hp on a 4.2m tinny? ive just upgraded my 30hp to a 50hp tohatsu on my 4.2 aquamaster hd open tinny, it should hopefully move pretty well. The transom is rated to 110kg of motor with the 50 only being 72kg. Was going to put the 40 on when the rep recommended the 50 same dimensions and weight so i thought why not. Keen to see what sort of knots blokes are getting with these motors. cheers

That is definitely going to feel a tad zippier than the 30!

We have a 40 on our 4.2 and plan to upgrade to 50 when the 40 dies but that shouldn't be for a few years yet (better not be!!!!!).

We get 51 kilometers per hour fully loaded with 2 anglers (and full live well, fuel etc). Looking forward to hearing what you get (I realise that you can't compare boats though without a lot more info...I just want to hear how fast you go...::) pretty immature hey :-[ ;D)

yeah once i get some figures tim mate ill post some up here for you, yeah shawn see with the tohatsu the 40 and 50 are exactly the same motor, size, dimensions and weight so a 40 would weigh the same just without the extra hp.

Crikey I had a 40 on my 4.2m Quinny and it would do over 50kph with 3 guys and all the gear. I think yours is gonna take off.

Which 50 Toey did you get? The TLDI or the carby job
I have a 50 TLDI on my 4.5 brooker Seaman and the best top speed I ever got was 67Kmh by myself with bugger all weight in the boat, The motor was bouncing off the rev limiter doing it as there was a nice ripple on the water and a slight headwind
Loaded up with all my crap and a mate I get 55-60 Kmh flat out, Your 4.2 is gonna fly
