Hi new member here. Went for a run with my mate and his old man. Left Gladdy marina about 7:30ish pm Friday night. Sussed out a supposed red mark on the way out but no decent ground so we kept motoring. Pulled up on a spot near masterhead about 8:30ish pm. Fished a 1km radius until about 2:30am then headed back in and arrived home at 3:30am.

19 Grassy, 13 lippa, 1 queen trout, kept 2 horse hussar.

The boat dropped a few big ones between us, one inparticular stretched and snapped 50lb mono.

Conditions: Nice riding swell on the way out, glassed out within 30 mins of arriving, home trip was just as flat.

Cheers

Never heard the term Queen trout before. Are they are Bar check trout?

Yeah no grassies there for me either, and you usually wouldn't get them where you get large numbers of spangles and red throats??

Any spangles over 4-5kgs i wouldn't bother keeping as they start to get really tough to eat also.

The elusive trout caught at night, great fish. I have only heard of that a few times.

I throw all spangles back, keep the red throat and grassies though as they tast so much better.

He was neglectant to take the bait... small little taps, thought it was just a rubbish pecker. Gave the line a solid yank and it was on. The hook was set from the outside to the inside of the side of his jaw... was quite lucky to be honest.
