Should be nothing in particular to look for really mate. Check the compression, make sure it has been looked after and get someone to run a diagnostic computer on it to make sure she hasn't been cooked or anything else major and make a call based on that. I have two 150 yams coming up to 1000 hrs and they still run like new. 700 hrs seems like a lot to some people but in reality there are a lot of motors getting around with a lot more hours than that on them and tehy are still going strong. Do the proper checks on yours and there is no reason why yours couldn't be as well........

My Yammy 4 stoke 200hp has just gone 500 hours and has never skipped a beat. Super reliable motor if regularly serviced!!! As ShaneC said, get a Marine Mechanic to run a test.

What year are they? Are they fuel injected? Plug a computer into them to find out what hours they have really done , what revs etc. Its not many hrs really if they are genuine. Fast hours are good hours. Say there 4 years old its only just under 200 hrs a year. The 1000 hr service will be expensive tho going by Merc 4's 1000 hr service Wadeo will confirm this :)
