I am a jet ski licence provider in Brisbane - I recently received an email from Manfred in the UK who wants 3 jet ski licences for his staff members - he wants me to pay $4500 so his staff members can fly to Australia and do their licences (WTF)!

Do I ignore this scam or does anyone have some ideas on how to deal with this?

Send him back an email stating that the cost of the license course ($3000 per person) has to be paid up front before you will even consider paying for their flights.
Or else just ignore it.
I will give Manfred 5 points for originality, but -10 points for stupidity. (do peope really fall this crap?)

Ignore them if you play along with them they will only think that they are having some sort of a win.

Tag them along..

If you're smart enough to know that it's a scam, play with them if you have the spare time. It helps tie up their end and prevents other people from being scammed.

What a DUMB @#&* and he wants YOU to pay for HIS staff to fly to Oz? Seriously! If this guy Manfred had half a brain it would be very lonely.

To me it appears to be another Nigerian Scam/Scammer living in the U.K. You can forward this kind of email onto the Australian authorities who deals with these kinds of SCAMS.Good Luck!

Yer, I don't get it. He wants you to pay for their flights! How stupid does he think you are? I guess that they just play the numbers but seriously, anyone who fell for that probably deserves it.

Please lets work together.

It is my pleasure to contact you for a business venture which I intend to establish in your country. Though i have not met with you before but I believe one has to risk confiding in someone to succeed sometimes in life.I am 20 years old and there is this amount of $7.3 Million United States Dollar which my late father deposited with a bank here which he wanted to used for his political ambition in our Country before he was assassinated.

Now I have decided to invest these money in your country or any where safe enough outside our country for security and political reasons.I want you to send me your details were this fund will be transferd into so that as soon as the money gets to your account I will be coming over to your country to finish my education and also the investment of the money while you will be the manager of the investment until I finish my education.

I would like to invest part of the money into this three areas of investment in your Country but if there is any other business that is better than what I'm suggesting, I will be very glad to follow your advice.

If you can be of an assistance to me I will be pleased to offer you 20% of the total fund while the balance will be invested by you.

I await your soonest response.

or just ignore them. lol

If you want to have some fun and have some time to spare then string them along for a week or 4, otherwise ignore it, or if you want to feel better, just email them back and tell them what their parentage is! ..better still, string them along and then tell them what their parentage and IQ number is. ;D

Whilst we are at it, I have a bridge for sale down in Sydney harbour going for a cheap 5Mil, I can post it if you wish, any takers?? please, pretty please..;D

Cheers

Sounds like a great opportunity. You pay for their flights, then they pay you a fraction of that for a jet ski license - how could that possibly turn pear shaped?

And what boss in the UK doesn't want their staff members to be able to ride jet skis?

I like to waste their time but not to level of these guys. They are scambaiters and make the scammers jump through all sorts of hoops.

I have a very abusive email that I cut and past for these wankers. I would report this to the cops as well as those in the UK.

Forgot to add that there is $10 million per month just from Australia that falls for this crap. So it does pay to report this as they do investigate, those who delet the emails and not report them in a way helps this sort of thing to keep going.

People need some enlightenment on email scams to finally set folk straight on the fact that, just delete is the best way to handle it.
10 million a month, mostly trusting old folk I imagine, and those not savy to internet.

That is seriously funny. Perhaps not for the person who had to do the carvings, but funny to see the scammer get a small taste of his own medicine.

I just read the saga in it's entirety, have been chuckling along a most of it, I can only say that the person who set to scam the scammer has far too much time on his hands. I don't have the Patience or the time to go to such lengths, a few days tops then I give them the bad news. This guy takes it to a whole new level.;D

Cheers

That was a ripper. I have got stuck on his site for hours. I can't believe he actually took out an ad for someone else's business just to get even with them. The guy is a genius.
