Hello honda owners,
your thoughts on your motors how long you have had them, what boats they are pushing and how heavy are they when loaded and the corresponding fuel burn at troll (7-8knots) and cruise.(3-4000rpm)
Any problems are you happy with them and would you buy again.
Thanks for any and all replies. Horse.

Hi Horse,
Boab run Honda,s on all there boats in the fleet. I have 150hp on my two centre cabs they weigh around 2500kgs loaded. I seem to get around 14l/hr sitting on 23knts in reasonable conditons. My boats are running all the time clocking up alot of hours quickly and i have not had any problems to date ( touch wood). One thing about Honda they pride themselves on there engines for relability and that they are. I am very happy with them and would recommend anyone interested in them to go ahead and buy one.

I have a 2800 kevlacat with twin 225hp Hondas onit. Average 65-70 lt/hr total at 3800-4000rpm doing 24-25kts.And on the troll I allow about 15lph.Overall not bad engines ,although they are very heavy compared to other makes.I would also have a look at the suzuki 150/175 motor in that HP range. Very light, and very light on the fuel. I have about 1000hrs on mine, and overall they have been pretty good.

Hi Horse, have had 3 Hondas, first was a 150 Hp on a 5.8 Mtr C/Console, second was a 225HP on a 6.2 Mtr Centre Cab, and now have a 225 pushing my Noble 7.5 C/Cab.

Great Motors , very good on Fuel, but depends on how you drive em, just like everything else!!!
