Guess he could always rig up when he gets his boat re registered and at least knows the good spots.

Huge fish anyway, Incredible!

I'm a bit confused as do all Tuna fetch those prices in Japan or just the big ones?

Bluefin do. There's a few docos on the yank bluefin season - they run hard for a single fish then go to extraordinary lengths to 'preserve' them on the run back into the wharf. They work the phones on the way in, the jap buyers are on the wharf waiting and the auction is held then and there. Last year's season was meant to be two weeks but they called it off early as soon as the quota was hit.

Obviously the kiwis try to look after their fishery too. The only way to regulate it is very expensive registrations and very short open seasons on them.
