while in the process of my rebuild i have been looking at installing
seat box's instead of the pedestal setup so i could get a bit more storage.

Now from all my search's they seem to be very expensive and not exactly what i am after.

so now my question

Would there be any issues if i built my own from ply and gave the inside and outside
a good coat of epoxy and a layer of mat then painted to colour code with the boat.
I would think it would be ok because thats how the floors and stringers etc are done but
i may be wrong in relation the the seat box.

Any advise would be most welcome

thanks

Why not ??? -- just build it big enough to fit an 80-100lt esky and you'll not only have more storage - but completely dry storage or more cold storage !
Personally ... I would glass it in - on the inside

id make it out of foam (alot lighter) and then the inside storage turns into a esky.. but still thinish ply would be a good way to do it aswell..

been a while since posted the question so thought i would post
the result of my foray onto seat pod building.

In the end i didnt have heaps of room so built a set that i could put
a storage box and holder for the extinguisher / epirb in each one
