I have a 3.7 mtr tinny, currently running an 87 20hp merc.
The motor has never really run well (never a problem starting, just running under load) and I've now played with it enough. I always think I have fixed it and it runs ok for a couple of trips then it sucks again. I have toyed with the option of a "good second hand" motor, but it's impossible to tell which ones are good, and the only way I am going to get piece of mind is to get a brand newey. I've decided I'm going to splash out on one of the above motors.
Naturally I am looking for value for money.... but..... if both motors were the exact same price, which way would you go and why?
My instinct tells me Tohatsu.... but 7 extra horsies???
I'm interested to hear people opinions/experiences.
