On saturday around low tide had 2-3ft waves breaking across with the surfers and sup riders out there .couple of boats did go out but doesn't seem to have changed to much, looked pretty shallow to me.

I wonder if they intend to enforce the law to wear a life jacket while exiting Mooloolaba harbour in a boat less than 4.8m now that it has been declared a coastal bar?

Got out thursday morning for a quick fish, bar was ok,came back with the wind up and pretty easy due to tide being well up,only in a 4.35 tinny so want to get to know the bar better before i head out in the darker hours of the morning.fat-bouy i did notice everyone was wearing jackets, atleast the boats i witnessed.Biggest problem i reckon were the board riders, one even abused a skipper for cutting accross him, dont think he seen him but could be a potential nasty incident.Anyway cheers for the input.

Ok Easter is just a few days away and Sunday/Monday looking ok on Seabreeze. How is the bar at the moment? Looks like there will be a bit of swell around Sat/Sun but Monday morning looking good. Any updates would be great

Bit of swell on it today. Doubt if the dredge has been working at all in this weather. If it gets 2.5-3.0m of swell on it off this cyclone near Fiji I don't think it will be workable as anything that cracks on the sandbar will roll all the way into the beach. Survey vessell Bulwer was out again today mapping the shoal for the weekly Notice to Mariners.

Thanks Smithy, I was lead astray by Seabreeze earlier in the week when I posted. Noticed it has all gone to sh@t again. Oh well there is always another weekend/sick day!

I went for a look this afternoon and there are waves breaking over the temporary buoy on the western side. This was high tide too. So be careful with all the swell and boat traffic this weekend
