Cairns Offshore Friday Night 10/2

Managed to get out for a fish Friday night out off Cairns. Started off slow but managed to put a few red fish on board in one particularly good drift. Ended up with a handful of reds, some Large Mouth Nannys, a few Spangled Emporer, a nice Rosy Jobfish and a couple of other grey things that my mate insisted on keeping.........

Highlight of the night though was a 5m whaleshark that came and checked us out. It hung around for over 10 minutes, slurping down all the little critters that had gathered in our lights. Only had a phone for a camera so the photos of the whale shark didn't turn out very well... Bit late at night to jump in for a swim with him........76959769607696176962

Nice haul there mate, the grey things are slatey bream aka mother in law fish :thumbsup:

Awesome sight that whale shark!
Prior to us beginning a trip,my decky always asks what will we see this time out that will amaze us.
And the ocean never lets us down.
Good catch mate.
