Fished Curtain Arti from about 5.15am to 6.30am with one whipper snapper and a pink thing that looked like a carp boated.
Had a quick drop on a likely looking show at Bulwer for not even a touch. (Not sure why I mentioned it but anyways):)
Got to Roberts Shoal about 7.30ish and boated a legal pearlie, a snap and a green joby. Did manage to hook a 90cm odd kingy and play him for 15 odd min all the way to the boat on 20lb leader when he made a last ditch effort for the para anchor and disappeared with my brightly coloured plastic and jighead. :'(
After that we shot out to Deep Tempest where we bagged another 3 snaps from 45cm-60cm in the first half an hr and then the fish seemed to shut down.
We perservered for a few more hrs with barely a lost bait then started the 2 hr trek back home about 2.30pm.
Murphys law casualties of the trip:
One stern light that snapped its mount 20min before day light.
One VHF aerial that came unstuck from its base (they only have a single wire wrapped in masking tape up the guts) which is still mounted on the targa.
Also found out that the fibre glass aerials dont sink when thrown in the drink in disgust - we turned back around and picked it up :-?
Its only murphys law because I spent a full day doing maintenance on the boat yesterday for the first time in months lol ::)
