hey guys i just done a full engine rebuild on this merc 4 stroker i had it running today at idle (have only ever had it idling) than i gave it a bit of gas it coughed than revved a little than started running on 1 cylinder and stalled wouldnt restart and sounded like it had low compression when cranking over so i removed the cam cover and seen the lower exhaust valve screw was screwed out to far its my mistake i screwed up so the exhaust valve was closed longer than it should have been the valve clearance was to great would this cause the head gasket to blow?
