caught this thing last night and am not sure what it is? came out of a lake and was about 25cm long caught on a piece of mullet..

i have seen these sold in aquariums and called chocolate trumpeters,we sometimes catch them in the brissie river but not often.not sure of the scientific name but boy oh boy those gills are sharp!!!!

Hey mate , it is a crescent perch (Terapon jarbua), they get up to around 25cm so yours is a big one

i get alot like that in my local lake.... where i find them i find the big silver bullets the ones that launch like rockets.
