I'm not sure of the species it looked a little like a long nose and spangley cross, if anyone could shed some light it would be much appreciated? I've caught smaller ones that look like this one, before in the shallows but never seen one this size, if it's the same.

The pic doesn't really show it but it's forehead kind of protruded a little like a grassy's but then went into a more elongated nose but not as long as a long nose emperor.

I think its a yellow lipped emperor.

Did you get to eat it?

I recently caught a large long nose about that size and it was a delicious tender fish.
