I spent 2 days sanding the anti-foul and preparing the hull so it could be painted.. Bloody tough and dirty job... Hayden loaned me a boat stand so I could get under the boat unimpaired by the trailer. That was a huge help, sanding with the boat on the trailer was a nightmare..
The anti-foul was heavily worn and was slowing the boat down, and affecting the economy more and more every few months, so it was time for it to go.. When I first fitted the E-tec, I was getting 56mph WOT and 1.7km/1lt @ 3200rpm (flat water).... Speed and economy dropped to 54mph and 1.6km/1lt..

here is what the the bottom looked like.

So after the bottom was prepared, I towed the boat up to the Haines Group to have it painted white using marine 2pac.

The differance is amazing, not only does it look heaps nicer then that ugly Anti-foul, its performance is the best its ever been..
WOT is at 59.5mph @ 5850rpm (in slack water),, It phyisicaly can not go any faster with its current prop.. According to Mercury's prop calulator i'm running with 0% slip with my 20" Rebel (unbelievable).. I could easy go up 2" in pitch which will put me over the 60mph..I going to get my 20" Rebel and 21" Viper reworked, hope they will do the job,as new props are expensive..

My best economy is now at 3400-3500 @ 34.5mph, achieving 1.8km/1lt, (was 3200 @ 31mph). Flat water.

Overall, I and very happy at the quality and finish the Haines Group has provided me. once again.. I just need a keel gard now to protect it..

All the information comes from the Lowrance which has nmea 2000. You can get all your engine data to display up on the screen.. I have speed, RPM, engine temp, Fuel remaining, trim, milage GPS, flow rate and fuel range.. Plus lots more if you want.

I've had to fill and fair a few little knocks under my 6.2m Seafarer and I've been considering having it resprayed underneath as well. Would you mind sharing the $$$ cost?
Cheers

Its not as expensive as you would think.. Providing you you get underneath and do the prep work, ie make sure there are no dings and sand the gell coat with 120 grit paper.. I'll PM you the price..

I didn't mind the look of the black, made the hull look mean as if it meant business.

Looks good now though and the figures even better. Amazing the difference it makes.

BTW I put an offer in for a boat with a 90 etec last week but missed out. I was wondering how I would've worded the thread on the new boat if I had got it.;D

Suzuki's are nice, but I can only leagaly fit a 175 Suzuki due to the limits off my max weight for my transom... If I could a 250 SS would be the go..
