I have a 1996 Mariner 175 2 stroke on my boat,22ft coxcraft pantera.I had powerhead rebuilt about 4 years ago, couldn't afford a new motor then.
Was talking to a guy & he told me the difference between a 175 & 225 mariner was the carbies.
Is this true? If so can they be changed easily.
Any advice appreciated.
Thanks Steve.

I think they are different motors, different ports, exhausts and the list goes on. Probably best to keep an eye out for a second hand 225hp.

Kind of like the one I am trying to sell???:P:-X8-)
But seriously.....i'm no expert by any means but wasn't the 175 a 2.5 L and the 225 a 3.0 L?

I had thought so.I nearly was going to buy 2nd hand honda for 10 k it was off a pro fishing boat.Had a lot of hours at low rpm.My thoughts at the time if I had bought it then that blew up I wouldn't be happy. At least I know mine is good not that I would get much if I sold it.
Thanks for your help
