Could not find another thread for this so I started another.

I am purchasing my Boat from Brisbane and live in Tweed Heads NSW. The dealer is deducting the rego off the cost of the boat. I suppose this would also appy to the trailer.

What does this cost, just incase he thinks he can try it on?

Thanks

$58.00 for vessels up to 3 metres, then $9.20 per half metre there after, to a maximum of $566.60

then if it does not have a HIN you will need to pop into the boat joint at tweed to get the hin plate paper
work done and plate
HIN validation $38.00 - HIN affixation $76.00

maritime is down the back where the trawlers are

Why dont you just get the dealer to deliver it to you at tweed with appropriate regns? Save you having to stuff around with it all.

you might try get the trailer paper work off the dealer and have it registered prior to pick up this way you can attach the number plate when you pick up, my mate had his boat HIN Validated at Tweed Coast Marine and he also had them cut custom rego numbers rather than crap bought square numbers, he needed a reciept of purchase with his name on it, and drivers licence etc was pretty straight forward he rang and booked it in.

You will prob get pretty smoked with stamp duty on the trailer its 3% of the purchase price just like a car, my trailer was over 170kg so was $157 for 12mths rego, you'll have plate fee, rego fee, stamp duty and the 12 mth fee, based on your boat and trailer size you wont get much change out of $300 on the trailer
