In fact, if it is 6hp you DO NOT need a licence, if it is OVER 6hp you do need a licence -also, OVER 4hp for registration.

Right. I`m 14, But I am a smart wise bloke. Had my fair share of experience on boats. I don`t want to break no rules. plan is to get a 3.3m tinny with a 6hp on it.
cheers

Since you are 14, if you have any friends who are under 12 then they must wear a lifejacket at all times when on the boat with you (there also must be a lifejacket on board the boat for everyone on the boat - if under 12 they must have a child size jacket).
The law is
Under 12
Under 4.8m
Underway (not at anchor)
Wear a lifejacket at all times - also if you intend to cross a bar (Wide Bay bar, Noosa river, Maroochy river, Caloundra, South Passage, Jumpin Pin, Tullebudgera Crk, Currumbin Crk and from 1 Jan 2012 the 1770 bar, Mooloola, Southport Seaway & Tweed river) , I dont think you will in a 3.3m tinnie, then all (including adults) must be wearing a lifejacket.
There is a $150 on the spot fine for you (the master) if you do not do/have any of the above - sorry to spoil your day, but just do not want to see you get into trouble.
